This
picture has been inspired by Snapesnogger's
stories and artworks: I had never even thought of painting a naga
before I saw hers, but they are so lively in her pictures, and
their stories enthralling, that I just couldn't resist!
I
know there are many flaws here: in the beginning I only thought
of doing a quick piece, and drew the perspective without any reference.
Then I got quite involved by the pic and it took me 3 days to
finish it.
The
character belongs to Snapenogger and is named Mercury: he has
red scales, red hair, and blue eyes. He's an ermaphrodite, both
male and female, and his face is very feminine (so I'm told ).
This is a scene I imagined from his past: he's still in the house
of his stepfather, finally alone and away from his tormentors,
even if only for a while.
He's lonely dancing, slowly, rhythmically, listening to an imaginary
song, while his thoughts are drift away and toward a future that
now seems too distant to even hope for. |
